![]() the originals are old and cracking a bit and i don't want to allow water to get into the doors. I am trying to track down replacement outer door belt seals for the windows. I am also hesitant to buy wheels because i know larger tires will throw off the speedometer reading, and also i was thinking that a 5 lug conversion would not be a terrible idea, just in case i got crazy later down the road and decided to V8 this car.Īny idea how much larger tires will throw off my speedometer reading? These were almost the only thing i could find that claim to fit, and were in stock. while i think it looks nice, i prefer a more aggressive appearance and was considering new wheels. The old tags expired in 2006, and it had been sitting since then, so it definitely needs tires. I was thinking about replacing the old Coil Springs, Struts, Shocks, End Links and anything else that is cheap and can use a polyurethane bushing. I want to squeeze every bit out enjoyment out of this that i can without spending a ton or changing anything that i cant change back easily. I am trying to think of other things i can do to this car. Hopefully they are brighter, last longer and draw less power. ![]() I plan to replace all the turn signals, tail-lights, and other bulbs (except for the dash lights) with LED bulbs. The Headlights are very dull and i can see condensation inside, so i ordered some LED Headlights, I will see how those look when they arrive. I ordered a Summit 100-Amp single wire alternator to replace the crappy 60-Amp factory alternator. I deleted the antenna so my car cover would fit. ![]() I replaced the factory stereo, and am waiting on some new infinity kappa speakers to arrive. I want to keep this car in immaculate condition, and do several things to improve it if possible. The car seemed to be surging a bit so i replaced the PCV valve and the missing hose going from the other valve cover to the intake and the idle seems to be normal now. I did some typical maintenance, oil, fuel+oil filters, air filter, and radiator flush. It has the exact same engine, paint and interior as my cougar had. it has 88K miles, Apparently owned by a little old lady. I Missed that car deeply, When i saw photos of this 86 TBird and the condition it appeared to be in, i had no hesitation in snatching it up. ![]()
